Contents: Concepts for sustainability and added value in rural areas
Description: This project develops a concept for mobility in new industrial settlements. The project’s goal is to find solutions for the challenge of making new settlements profitable for rural areas while also guaranteeing a sufficient workforce for industrial enterprises. It examines how transport in these regions can be designed to be both economically and ecologically sustainable. Another central goal is creating a win-win-situation for the economy, the region, and the environment. Here the focus lies on developing solutions that equally consider all stakeholders. Within the project three practicable scenarios concerning commuting will be developed. These scenarios will be applied to specific example regions to further develop concepts for the regional context.
Goals:
- Developing concepts to promote the creation of sustainable value in the rural areas
- Integrating ecological, social, and economical sustainability into the regional structures
- Strengthening the regional economy via innovative projects and cooperations
- Promoting sustainable business models and local entrepreneurship
- Improving the quality of living in rural areas through innovative solutions
